On this page, we will try to analyze frequently asked questions about the operation of ABCI.
Question: Is it necessary to replace microorganisms and in what cases?
Answer: Microorganisms-destructors of harmful organic substances are charged into the bioreactor during commissioning once. In the further operation of the ABCI, the replacement of microorganisms is not required during the entire service life. In the case of new pollutants (when the production technology changes), measures are taken to adapt the existing biocenosis to new conditions with the possible introduction of additional cultures of microorganisms, which practically does not affect the costs associated with the operation of ABCI.
Question: Is the death of destructive microorganisms possible in ABCI?
Answer: The death of microorganisms-destructors is possible only in two cases: 1) overheating of the absorption solution over 50°C, under these conditions, the protein is folded; 2)Ingress of strong antiseptics (bleach) into the absorption solution. In normal production conditions of operation of ABHU, such factors are absent, so it is not necessary to talk about the death of microorganisms.
Question: What can happen in the event of a long downtime of the ABCI and is there a critical time period for such a stop ?
Answer: Up to 2 weeks of downtime, no activities are required. Then it is recommended to introduce a contaminant (formalin, triethylamine) into the ABCI to maintain the vital activity of microorganisms. Even if the downtime lasts for, say, six months, some of the microorganisms will still remain (in a state of suspended animation), just getting to the working mode will take longer (up to 2 weeks).
Question: Is the absorption solution subject to replacement and how often should it be changed?
Answer: The absorption solution based on industrial water is filled with ABCI only once during commissioning. In the future, only the ABCI is fed with water to compensate for the losses of steam and moisture entrainment. The flow rate varies depending on the operating temperature of the ABCI and can be from 0.1 m3/day up to 3.0 m3/ day. ABCI does not have a "Technological tail", i.e. it does not have a drain to the sewer.
Question: What waste is generated during the operation of the ABCI air purification plant?
Answer: One of the advantages of using ABCI as an air purification plant is the absence of waste that requires disposal. Harmful organic substances decompose to water and carbon dioxide. Since an aerotank with a fibrous nozzle is used, active sludge is almost completely absent. Suspended substances that were contained in the ventilation air (SiO particles) are removed from the sludge collection section by means of an airlift2).
Question: Our company does not have free space for the installation of dust and gas cleaning. What are the dimensions of your car
Answer: The dimensions of the ABCI depend on the volume of the treated air and the concentration of pollutants. We design individual installations based on the conditions of a particular enterprise. There has never been a case that we have not found a place for the placement of ABCI equipment.
