1. The need to neutralize amines.
Most foundries of machine-building plants today use the "Cold-box" technology for the production of rods»
(cold box) or Coldbox-amine process. At the same time, as a
a gaseous catalyst is used triethylamine (TEA), sometimes,
dimethylamine (DMA).
TEA-toxic substance of the third class of danger irritates
the skin of the eye and the respiratory tract of a person, causes a disorder of coordination of movement, can cause pathological changes in the liver and kidneys. MPC TEA in the air of the working area of 10 mg/m 3 , and for the atmospheric air of localities-0.14 mg / m 3 . The presence of ventilation air purification units from amines is a mandatory condition for the operation of rod equipment.
2. Methods of neutralization of amines.
In the post-Soviet space, two amines are used to purify the vent air from amines
chemisorption [10] and absorption-biochemical method. Chemical cleaning in acid scrubbers, it is based on the ability of amines to form c sulfuric and orthophosphoric acids water-soluble salts: sulfates or phosphates.
Absorption and biochemical purification in the ABCI it is based on the ability of amines to dissolve limitlessly in water. technical support
воде with its subsequent microbiological decomposition into harmless components-water, carbon dioxide and free nitrogen. Analysis of the absorption solution taken from existing installations
shows that the content of microorganisms-destructors is 10 6 and higher per 1 ml of solution, which ensures effective regeneration of the water absorbent.
3. Disadvantages of the chemical method.
If in the countries of the European Union, saturated waste salt solutions formed in acid scrubbers are collected
and they are transported to chemical enterprises, then to the post-Soviet
the drain is then discharged into the sewer system. At the same time, the maximum permissible concentrations for sulfates are exceeded by 200 times, for phenol-by 3000 times. Every day, dozens of tons of "dirty" solution enter our reservoirs.
At JSC "Transpnevmatika" (Pervomaisk, Russia) sanitary authorities
it was forbidden to send the drains to the sewers, so a contract was signed with a chemical company to accept the solution for processing. The cost of transportation and disposal amounted to more than 800 thousand Russian rubles per year. Also, during operation, the fixed nozzle in the acid scrubbers was overgrown with salt deposits, which caused acid droplets to be carried to the roof of the workshop and the destruction of air ducts and roof overlap elements [12]. At almost every plant in the place where the vent air is released into the atmosphere after acid scrubbers, you can see
in any weather, a wet spot on the roof of the workshop is a non – drying acid.
There were cases of destruction of sewer pipes due to incomplete neutralization of residual water in the drains.
For environmental reasons, as well as due to the destruction of the scrubber housings, a number of enterprises have replaced acid scrubbers with ABCI.
4. Advantages of using ABCI.
In 2013, the Gomel Plant of Casting and Normals was launched at the RUE "Gomel Plant of Casting and Normals".
a set of equipment for the production of rods according to the COLD-BOX-AMIN-process.
When conducting a tender from the vent air cleaning unit along with
with the high efficiency of air purification from amine vapors, it was necessary to ensure the absence of industrial effluents and minimal operating costs.
Selection of an installation for cleaning amine vapors in a ventilated area
the rejection of the air machine in favor of the domestic manufacturer was justified by the significant economic and environmental advantages of ABCI installations over acid scrubbers. Namely: the cost of capital and operating costs is lower, there are no drains to the sewer system. The efficiency of cleaning the vent air is similar (96% and higher).
Currently, there are 21 foundries at the plant.
in operation, 36 ABCI purifying vent air removed from Belarusian (BelNIILIT Institute), Italian (PRIMAFOND), English (Omega) and German (Laempe and AHB) rod machines.
